Fear of the Unknown
A tap on the window,
the moaning whistle of the wind,
constant whip of power lines,
sound of brushing of trees.
Noises behind in the walls,
the creak of the door,
drip drip drip of a tap,
hearing foot steps.
Hearing dogs fighting,
the low groan of cats,
mice chewing at the bed post,
cockroaches, spiders and other bugs.
When a child lays in bed at night,
these are the things they fear,
fear of the unknown,
thinking there's always something there.
