Faces of Loneliness

Some silences have many nooks of tears That lay the corpse of angst upon old weeds As grasses hide a vulnerable face To harbor grief...wrestling among lost stars. And I hold comfort in my guarded place, Ensnaring those who dare enter cracked walls On threadbare hours... face of betrayal looms While heart torn splatters, needing cold retreat. Quietly wasting time that peels ached nights I hang upon clotheslines of empty winds , Numbing the senses as I lose the spark of dreams Until tenor of pained silence roars...again. Before an altar of thorns where love fades On candles drifting to light my emptiness; Nail of silence pierces this face now grim Where bleeding hour reaches a destined tomb. Nette, as always your poetry is beautiful and heartfelt, and quite sad in this case. But then that's the nature of the contest. You are quite an amazing writer... jack

I have no idea what happened but I think both yours and Deb's po's for my Frida contest DID NOT get to me !!??? This is weird. And if I hadn't opened my new test, I'd simply reopen my old one, and you both could have re-entered my Frida one... awk! I've judged, but did not post the winners yet, as I want to work on my blog... I CRASHED into bed last night after making her lunch. Threw out my back, yesterday.... just a blah-ick day. This poem (above) RESONATES... echoes, you know? Yes,you do ;-)
