Faces In the Crowd

Leaning by the window, I see countless faces in the crowd, A milieu of looks grim, tense, relaxing, carefree, head bowed; Walking swiftly those fasciae of humanity in its varied motions, The mixed faces, cloaked in stiff guises of varied emotions Shrouded from themselves, without displaying their craves, Each imprisoned in their smooth veneers undulating as waves, There are trances in the façades of those people I had met, Their visages as empty as the blank canvas, on the easel set~ Killing valuable time, everyone trying their best to look pretty, All lost in banality,in their yesterdays and tomorrows gritty .... Unseen, unrecognized being a face-in-the-crowd, anonymous really, It was not me but with me,just someone else, they’re all alone, finally!!
