Enjoying the Rain
The sky is white, sure sign of rain
The flowers are straining their heads
ready, for the first refrain of the musical
splashes, as they sprinkle the flower bed
I am here I am here they seem to say
please shower me with moisture
so I can live and bloom for the gardener,
who lovingly spends time to make a glorious picture.
Who else is waiting for those bursts of rain
the birds in the treetops, because they know
worms will show there shiny heads, before
burrowing back into the ground below.
Mostly the raindrops are enjoyed by the people
who love to walk enjoying the petals strewn
with raindrops, making a water fountains for the birds
to shower and quench their thirst, to sing a new tune.
