End of the World

5 billion years have passed Society is long since gone The sun is now so vast The Earth has its final dawn Life has withered away Leaving ruins in its wake Memories fade in decay A world that we forsake Far away on another rock Humans made their home Still we avert death’s clock As the universe we roam We've continued to adapt And look nothing like before Our potential was untapped Until we strived for more
