Embracing the Obsolete

Time running, flowing away where are the treasures of yesterday so many things gone, vanished obsolete the horse and buggy the rumble seat but more than that as time goes by the young don’t even seem to try to embrace the things that we hold dear like morals and values it’s all to clear the things we embraced in our youth time took it’s toll and no longer plays a roll but with help and patience kind and true we might just see this generation through.

Trudy, Do not fear. God is near. And there are still many young folks that hold his love within their hearts. The foolishness and mistakes of the upcoming generations will pass as they are "loved" through it and "shown" by example that there is a better way. The human heart, connected to God will make it... by good examples observed. I HOPE! Very nice poem. Always, DAS-J

Every generation shakes its head at the younger generation. I remember how horrified my grandma was when I wore a pair of shorts, telling me ladies don't show off their legs, lol. We can only trust that the morals we taught them when they were growing up will stand them in good stead, as ours did. Thought provoking poem and well written. Regards Heidie

We can only hope that young people will find value in all of the "treasures" of their own days. It's clear that values, like morals, have changed. Perhaps those values we cling to are considered "obsolete" by the new generation. Excellent, thought-provoking write, Trudy! Love, Carolyn
