Each and Every Friend of Mine

What joy there is in living free in friendship's gift. In every circumstance my heart will get a lift. They paint my world and keep me from just looking plain. And all the while we help each other through the pain. They send a lifeboat every time my sea churns up. In dark of night I drink deep from their loving cup. We share our thoughts so often we just laugh and grin. Peaceful is the state of mind they put me in. As we traverse this world together we are one. Basking in the light of life under the sun. Sharing memories- highs and lows we find our strength. Knowing that a road like this takes lots of length. Many times they hold me up and keep me sane. Or else they puddle-jump with me out in the rain! They take away my burden and make my heart sing. I wouldn't trade these friends of mine for anything! written 4/21/2013 for contest "What A Friend Really Is" sponsored by Becca Lucas
