Dusk

the sky is like a canvas
splashed with modern art
multi coloured daubs of clouds
streaks of blue apart
a reddish splodge sun
slowly slides towards the edge
and dusk has begun

My favorite time of day.... Imaginative word choice. Visual and visceral. You should have been up with the winners...but then I have always been an odd duck...never agree with consensus! Thanks for letting the rest of us enjoy!

Jack, Your poetry is always so diverse. I enjoyed this entry that should do well in the contest. I have to mention how impressed I was when I read your page in the "Snippets Anthology" I just received today. I loved both your poems, in fact they may be my two favorite in the entire book! It was such a pleasure to recognise so many names in the book. You have such great talent. Cheers!
