Dripping Honesty

When you read my work I don't wish for you to shower me in compliments, filled with lofty words of exaltation. I just wanna know whether or not the message was received - or whether it was rather obscure. Whether or not you felt the same emotions as I - or that if you found something new to add to the table. You don't have to say "This is greatest piece of literature there ever was". You don't even have to agree with half the things I wrote. God didn't clone us all from Adam, but instead made us each a unique angle, that forms the bigger whole. No, all I really want is to be bathed in your dripping honesty - the color and/or texture of this honesty matters very little to me.

I came looking for your poem, Dripping Honesty, and here it is, a very near relation to my own. I see that we both search for honesty, not praise or lies. Positive feedback helps, not hinders. // paul

You're right about that, Paul. Positive feedback is great - all the more when it's genuine! Appreciate your helpings of both, my friend!

Timothy, when the poets here praise you, it's because you truly are a great writer. I don't tell every poet that either! anyway, I will definitely be on the lookout for "obsure" poems if you should write one. I love them lucid!!

It really moves me for you to say that. I have written some "odd ducks" before, haha... it's hard to choose which ones to post sometimes though... thanks for reading me as always!

This is what we all want Tim, the honest comment, and for the most part I think people do. Unfortunately time does not allow for a lot of commenting, and to disect every poem would take forever. This write is very clever, funny and honest. I'm with you all the way. Take care, Richard

Thanks a bunch Richard! You are right about it taking time for a lot of commenting... I just wanted to express my appreciation for the people that really pour their hearts out (both in writing and commenting). Glad you liked it and got something from it!

Amen! I've often thought that too. Honestly, ;) when I post something, I always try to find something that is praiseworthy without being insincere. We do need to encourage one another, but also to offer opportunity for growth. Not an easy thing. I REALLY LIKE WHAT YOU WROTE HERE! The best part? The title and last two lines!
