Distant Lover

I miss you.... Though you're so many miles away So many feet apart, So many inches to cross. I can't say that I'll be joyous when you finally call Or decide to pick up your phone. Partially because all this time I've been trying to reach you But you just don't seem to have the time. And I wish you could see how I am feeling right now, See the look upon my pretty face, See the cold icy tears that run down my chesnut cheeks See the way my hands are shaking uncontrollably. I miss you my distant lover, Though you're so many miles away, So many feet apart, So many inches to cross, And I hope you read this poem And understand just how much I miss you still Although you haven't picked up your phone And decided maybe to call or text me back. My friends tried to tell me not to fall in love with you But I never believe them about things like that. I always follow my heart And you my dear was no exception, Just wish you could see your own deception towards me And I promise I'm finished, After you read this poem Distant lover, So many miles away, So many feet apart, So many inches to cross, But always very close to my heart
