Despite the Flu Shot

My husband had his flu shot, But then he got the flu. When you take all precautions, There’s nothing more to do. They say it isn’t foolproof For those who got the shot. My husband is denying that The flu is what he’s got. But he has all the symptoms – The tiredness, the chills, The sweating and the coughing – He looks green around the gills. The doctor ordered lots of liquids, Chicken soup and rest. The old humidifier’s plugged, Which helps to decongest. I’m giving him the best of care, (He’ll probably forget it) But all that I am thinking is – I sure hope I don’t get it!

They say that it is fool proof But any durn fool knows If they say that it is fool proof That's just not the way it goes There's always that poor fool Who goes and gets the shot Thinking that he got relief But the flu is what he got!

Keep eachother warm and dry. The flu is bad, I tell no lie. It zaps you if you even sneeze. Ague awchoo to your very knees. Take care and good luck. Wash them hands and blow your nose. If you don't, you know how it goes. :) Be well. :)

hahaha, the ending is so great. That's what all we poor wives are thinking when we have to wait on hubbie hand and foot when he is sick!! Yep, those flu shots can't catch all strands. knocking on wood right now. I have not had flu since i began taking the shots!

Hope you don't get it either, Ilene. I've been hearing alot of stories of people who got the flu shot and then still got the flu. I'm wondering if the shot is worth getting? Cute write! Love, Kim

Nice read.. suffering from the flu at the moment also.. ..I did not get a shot !
