Death Was Served

There was fear in the co-pilot’s eyes, his voice was thin and almost cracked, passengers filled the plane with cries, their plane was one of many attacked, the pilot felt her stomach clamp, even tighter then it had ever been, face wet, mind damp, and her co-pilot right there, drinking in the tension and expressing the fear, the pilot’s voice came out strong, she wanted to break the silence that they suffered for so long, and it made the plane feel like the inside of a tomb, over 200 passengers felt the doom, crashing soon, and death was served that afternoon.

Riveting piece with a glimpse of how one must feel facing death. Timely poem given today's threats and the terrorists' efforts to destroy life. Lest we forget, it could happen again. Thank you for sharing this well-written poem with us and for taking time to comment on mine. Keep on writing! Karen

Sunshine, my favorite line was "the pilot felt her stomach clamp" too close to the plane accident yesterday to be annoying so I'll suck it up and say you have a forte with words. Laurie

Frank this one made me cringe and that is the sign of good writing..this is fitting due to the recent mishaps in the air. Good write friend.
