Dear Friend

It is only through you that
I feel alive
It is only when you tell me of your pain
that my pain becomes more real
And when your eyes light up with joy
at the same things mine do
I feel it ten times more
In trusting that you won't betray me
I vow to myself I will never betray you
Your compassion for others teaches me
 inspires me and encourages me
to be commpassionate too
I'm so thankful for how good
you make my heart feel
And most of all for
the fact that
 I know you
