Days Gone By
The day seems long
Long enough to earn it a weary lot
Weary days like those days just before the trumpet
Trumpet; not of an elephant, but of Zion
Zion; where peace shall abound in fullness
Fullness and profusion of Love alike
Love; sounds familiar but distant
Distant to me since I had none
And I’ve had none since it left
Left, just the way it had come
Came crashing into my life like a misguided Rocket
And leaving earnestly with the speed of a prodded missile
I knew better
Better than chasing slight shadows
She’ll ne’er come back
Not love, but the person that brought it to me
