Daylights Break

Light from the sky Warming my face As I step out of the shadow At daylights first break The glisten on the water Of a distant stream Vibrant with beauty Just like a marvelous dream I step out into the open And walk towards the light Put both feet into the water To see a miraculous site A school of fish Swimming past my feet A luminous shimmer off of scales A wonderful defeat My worries had left My pain subsided And the balance within Had equally divided When day turned to night Is when my adventured had ended When daylights next break Can I wander again

There does seem to be something miraculous about the way fish live such a peaceful life. You wrote this so beautifully that I felt as if I were stepping into the water with you. Very nice! Love, Carolyn
