Dancing In the Dark

A shawl of gilt black fringes, splayed; Upon her soft, white, skin; Beneath burnished swirls of open lace; Breasts crested capped within. Her hair was full of candlelight, Flames danced in her eyes. And as her gartered thighs did part, She heard her lover sigh. T'ween clefts as white as moon rise, And curls as black as night. A lance was raised, parting, Twin orbs of delight. Limbs akimbo, heart and tide, Teeth and talon marked, On they rode without fright Dancing in the dark.

Looks as if penned by some past master of the craft. So perfect. Cast in that classical mould, it is so elegant and fascinating.

Congrats Deb on "Dancing in the Dark" being featured. This sure beats "the Tennessee Waltz." Vince

right, 'dancing', you and your euphemisms...There was a movie called 'Dancer in the Dark'. Not sure if you've heard of it, stars Bjork, the singer songwriter, excellent but very sad. ok hang on 'a lance was raised, parting, twin orbs of delight'...I think I have the lance part down, now the twin orbs....hmmm.....oh well you'll have to fill me in one day. Also I was looking for Harmless and Normal but didn't find it in your poem list, found this enjoyable little ditty instead:)

This is deep and beautiful, true lovemaking described here, not simply 'sex.' Your phrasing is remarkable...Love, Sara:)
