Crystal Rain

When the rains burst forth from heaven's lofty heights, Apollo deigns to repress his golden light. Beneath, waves unfurl with whitecaps crashing on my island's sand; I feel the strength of Mother Nature's land. Render me no umbrella for this storm; no paltry drops are felt to prickle skin, just blur of storm to be consumed within. Rain has always been a love to me.... so when crystal droplets fall they become a part of the euphoria felt deep within my heart. © Connie Marcum Wong

Beautiful, you captured the essence here. I also love the rain. I love to walk, to run, sit upon the roof and fall asleep to and in the rain. Please read Raindance and Rain Within.

Thank you for your comment on my poem. It is always nice to meet new people. At least I don't remember having seen your name or commented to you before. I see that you got on the soup just a short while before I did. I hope your enjoy it and will grow in poetry if that is what you wish. I will be commenting more now that I have your name. Sometime soon I hope to see your verse three in an emotional write. There are many storms this can apply to. In fact I may reword and steal it. Great!

This is an excellent poem and it flows very well. The images are heartwarming in the midst of the rain. When I was a child I, with a braved heart, I skipped and danced in the rain while singing wonderful songs. Good luck in the contest. This is memory refreshing. Great job! Joseph
