Crow and Scarecrow

Sitting on the evil scarecrow’s raised arms Is a midnight black crow from the darkness The depths of all that’s cursed sits his black soul Looking around he searches for weakness That of people’s hearts, those with love flowing Watching, waiting for that perfect moment That time to strike the eyes of the walker Eating the soul of the poor lonely gent Then in the heart of the scarecrow he goes And leaving the soul trapped within his heart Fear’s produced by this devilish creature The pair in tandem brings terror impart If anyone surely sees the scarecrow Crow isn’t far behind to strike you blind Only a jack-o-lantern can save you Make sure it’s lit or it won’t be so kind

The title is what made me want to read this poem. Great work establishing a relationship between the two, a very unique concept.
