Coming of Age

There is music in her hands;
The graceful gestures of a different time,
Courtly manners and a black lace fan...
A hundred shaded meanings
In my daughter's eyes...
Mysterious, sibilant laughter without mystery
Without guile
Say so many things young and beautiful.

And the dance begins inside her smile
In the middle of her first kiss
That needs no translation...
While the chandelier in a debutante ballroom
Reflects flashes of joy
In a swirl of shining silk
And a trace of elusive perfume
Warming her skin for the first time.

There is such music in her hands;
She is my princess, unawakned
Surrounded by a future beloved,
And dissapointed courtiers...

There is such wonder...

I love you, Daughter Mine.

How sweet! <3 I spot one spelling error (unless it is an accepted spelling I am not aware of): on the second line of the 3rd paragraph, you spelled "unawakened" as "unawakned".

Thanks for letting us take part in this tender moment. Expressed with the love that only a parent can truly understand and appreciate.

This is a poem dedicated to a daughter that is dearly loved by her mother. Mothers and daughters have a special bond and a relationship most mothers and daughters do. I know me and my mom have a good and special relationship but even when we bicker we always make up and we look out for each other see my mom cares about me a whole lot so I trust her and her judgment. I respect my mom and I know she'd do anything for me. Having a good mom means so much to me your daughter is lucky...
