Coming Back Home
COMING BACK HOME
Who says I have no choice to sin
To love and live and delight in sin?
T’is my choice and one I can choose
To live in lies and follow the flies
But here now is the sober thought
Of whether sin will lead me Home.
I can smoke all day and night
And ask God for funds when I’m broke
I can drink all I want
And ask Jesus for more wine when it dries
But whether drinking or smoking are done at Home
Or if it can lead me Home is the sober thought.
I can cheat in tricky ways
And ask God for cunning wisdom in everyway
I can steal from anyone
And ask God to show me who is still rich
But whether I can cheat or steal at Home
Or if that is what God said is the Way, is the sober thought.
I can beat her with my strength
And thank God for my authority as a man
I can bully them for years
And make them wish they were never born
But whether I can beat or bully them back at Home
Or if these can lead me Home is the sober thought.
I can be current with the world’s hit records
And ask the Spirit for direction to the latest store
I can be found in the coolest club
Praying that thugs never find the place
But whether there is a club or record store at Home
Or whether secular songs can lead me Home is the sober thought.
There are many things that I can do
But which ones can take me Home?
Ah! I will stay back, look and ask Him
For as the Father, He should know the Way Home
There are many things to ponder and do
But which ones take me straightly Home?
