Color Blind

Color blind

I was making my last trip
Before I go home tonight
But when I reach San Fernando
She stops me by the traffic light

I said where to lady
She said ste Madeleine
And I saw her in the rear view mirror
She use to be my girl friend

We were going to be marry
But our parents couldn’t get along
A Muslim boy and a Hindu girl
They say that it was wrong

Then one day she sends a letter
They stop her from seeing me
And they are sending her away
To life with her aunt in Germany

I remember that night
Driving to mayaro beach
try to find a peace of mind
But it could not be reach

Then she said to me
Are you not going to tell me hi?
Why did you ever leave?
And never said goodbye

I was caught by surprise
The words stuck in my throat
She said I waited everyday for a letter
But you never even send me a note

I said I never leave you
They said you gone to Germany
So I leave ste Madeleine
And move to the country

She said she was heart broken
The day she got my letter
Saying I’m going to New York
To live with my brother

We got out the car
And as we hug it starts to rain
But we never even notice
Because we found love again

Some parents are out of touch
They can cause so much pain
I hope what happen to us
Don’t happen to any love again

God just give us life
And religion was made by man
And sometimes the thing they practice
Was never part of gods plan?

Love comes from the heart
Love is not color blind
I hope you find your happiness
Today I got back mine
