Clouds Passing

I looked at the passing clouds
That have carried my dreams away;
The wind that blows sadly knows
That dreams can seldom stay.

Each dream of you that disappears
Carries away a piece of my heart;
And all that I feel became so real
That it is tearing me apart.

Still my heart is longing
As it has from the very start;
To feel the love that we once had
Together as a masterpiece of art.

With each passing cloud
My thoughts slowly fade away;
Longing to see you again
With each new passing day.

A collaboration with Dan Kearly and my thanks
to him for his wonderful contribution.

Another fine collaboration! I enjoy his poetry, too, and your joint venture, though sad, is well put together. First verse and last verse reference to clouds increases the sense ofn longing.

This is another collab that I have read that I never wouldn't even know it was one if it weren't for the note at the bottom... this is just lovely, Lizzy (eep! *blush*! sorry I believe I have been typing your nickname wrong?? sorry again...) -- sad yet has such a wistfulness about it, those passing clouds...

Very nice Elizabth. The rythym was just a tad off but the poem was great. Good thought. Good imagery. Good design. Good read. I wouldn't mind collaberating with you if you ever run across a stumblig block on another good poem. Keep up the good writing. Rockman :-)
