Christmas Eve Night

Daddy assembles the bicycle While their little boy falls fast asleep Mommy takes a bite out of the cookie So his belief in Santa Claus he will keep Presents come out of their hiding place The eggnog is spiked just a bit Daddy pauses under the mistletoe Waiting to be joined by his wife’s lips Snow falls outside of the window The fireplace dances with delight The world somehow seems more peaceful On the passing of Christmas Eve night
