Changing Skies
On waking the child runs to the window
will it still be there she is thinking?
there in the sky replacing the sun
is an orb so fantastical that reflects
Prisms of colour are flooding out
the sky changing as the orb
like a disco ball shatters
distorting and reflecting
Sometimes a polka dot
then some stripes
wavy lines of colour
triangles tumbling
The child stared in wonder
if she lived to a hundred
she would never forget
the day of the changing skies
