Change To Actions of Love

The need to allege a few words about man- Of ignorance, I am not a fan. Of color, religion- he is panicked to asunder Puerile within his own thunder. Speak not your deceitful words of equality When deep down, benevolence is not your reality. Show the truth- in actions of love Open your mind's brilliance to reach above Reach out in your humanity Obliterate all deceitful vanity. View not the world in pigments and shade Put away your discriminating blade. * Written in hope of the abolition of prejudice. Amy Green

I love that you wrote this in hopes for the abolition of prejudice. I think that is a long way in coming but if more poets and everyone else took your "stand" we might see a change!!! Congrats on your win, Amy. It is good to see you at Soup.

I hear you, Amy..prejudices of all kinds impede all of our progression to a better place. Unfortunately, parents are to blame as they pass their ignorance on to their children...Thanks for leaving comments on my "Earth Exhaling" win in Rick Praise's contest! Have a good weekend..Audrey

Amen, Amy. I hope people absorb the wisdom in your poem. I have written many about prejudice as well. Why can't people see beyond color and class to understand we are all equal in God's eyes? The last verse has a real kick to it! Love, Carolyn
