Cataclysm of Light

First,
there was an exploding sound,
everyone looked around,
then the plane was going down,
the captain heard
his co-pilot utter a curse word,
but before he could take another breath,
and prepare himself for death,
the plane exploded in a cataclysm of light and sound,
and moments later,
only debris hit the ground.

I wonder if it's better to just go, not enough thought involved for fear just an ending. After 911 I listened to the conversations from the plane, to tell that one person, that one last time that your heart belongs to them,,,okay I convinced myself, I want time before the explosion. Smiles Frankie

Gripping and tragic poem, Frank. Surely this is one of the fastest ways to die, and also one of the most frightening. Very good - seems so real! Love, Carolyn
