There are people other than Santa offering candy canes, but they want donations in return for them. Have you ever been offered a candy cane by the Hare Krishna? Good senryu here.

Ooo I remember being taken to see Santa and being given Candy of various shapes and sizes, mm McYummy. Good luck in the contest Francine >> James :)
