The day has come to hear the inner voice Once whispering now yelling it out loud, The time has come to make a simple choice, Or drown in shame and forget to be proud. For years it has been tugging at my heel. Until I kicked it down and turned away, Too scared to face the truth and how I feel, The time for love would come another day. Yet now the day has come and I feel fear, Afraid of passion taking o’er my heart, All senses lost as thoughts now fall apart But worse, the fear of not having her near.
