Blink

I turned my head and blinked And another year passed away Im closing in on my extinction With every passing day I wonder if my life counted for something Or will the mark i leave be just a stain Will there be any reason in the future For people to speak my name Will my legacy somehow have meaning To the children i leave behind Will they look back and smile on me Or will i be forgotten over time Perhaps i was a poor role model Perhaps i could have been a better man I just pray when my children think of me They know i did the best i can.

This one is lovely Carl. I often wonder if my sole reason for living is just to be a bad exanple. With thoughts like your poem expresses I think that you are showing a pile of reasons why you will be remembered well. Blink and a life is gone. oh how long the wait for a birthday used to be. Now Blink here is another blink and another. I liked your poem a lot but i am not quite sure why it leaves me smiling a little.

I love your pondering words. Words surely leave a legacy, and bring out the best of us - bring out our honesty and raw emotion. That's something beautiful. What a great piece. Wishing you a happy rest of the week! Always, Laura

Carl, I don't like the thought of your extinction. Do you feel life is passing you by, because of your job. I am sure our children know and feel we do all we can for them. In my heart, you are the better man and a good role model. Ask yourself if you are proud of your kids... and then you will know the answer... always a fan... Linda
