Betwixt and Between

Betwixt and between Sadness and mirth Happy but sad For dear Mother Earth Feeling sorry for Adding to the mess Not really aware Of my part I confess Betwixt and between Feel guilty at times Having so much While others are crying The worldwide problem Of hunger and disease Is difficult to remedy Near impossible to ease Betwixt and between I sit here and cry 'Bout the inequality Don't understand why Do we throw up our hands Say nothing can be done Go on and forget it Just enjoying the sun Betwixt and between Filled with sadness and love Gotta keep on trying With help from up above © Jack Ellison 2013

I do at times feel a bit selfish to complain about petty things... when others so far away are fighting just to survive. This was a heartfelt piece and a great reminder to not always think about your current situation, only. I love your title - even if betwixt means the same thing as between... lol.

Betwixt and between is an old saying from way back. But what you say about people just fighting to survive... because we feel so helpless, we try not to think about it. Very sad!

Know exactly what you mean Jack...I think about this every time I give my dogs table scraps...that some people would love them...makes ya cry....

You're probably not adding near the mess as my Dragon is... especially to my roses, today... So cheer up you're solving a problem by writting about things along the way. And if you want to clean up the earth... If it'll make you feel better, I say... I'll give you a shovel, if you come by my friend. For here, there's a lot to do... My Dragon gave the roses another migraine today... I'll let you clean off the poopy doo, asa favor to you today... LOL
