Look at my beating heart It has seen so much Lived through unimaginable pain Count the scars Look how deep they are How they never healed Brush away the ashes Look at the burns that have been left Scorched by dreams that went unfulfilled Look at my heart Whether it beats just once Or if it beats a million times It doesn’t matter At least it lived for a little while
