As Much As Can Be
one broken
shows compassion
as much as can be
squeezed from a
situation
where they put all they
got
on the line &
like a shining star,
a blazing fire,
an electric shock
of as much as one can
see, without covering the
eyes with hands & finger,
the want to get to know,
to make acquaintance,
to witness this energy,
if but for only a moment,
writhes within the
onlookers---
often such vulnerability
only finds itself in small
places,
quick like the fluttering wings of
a fly,
quick & gone
faster than a first kiss
but ebbing & leaving traces of
what could’ve been,
had this individual not be
broken apart,
completely,
before this very instance.
