Another Place In Time
That night there were no stars
Beyond the corners of her window;
Mirror blackness slick against the light inside
Was the answer at a glance...
No matter how she searched.
And the trees cast no shadow
In their attitude of sleeping;
Silent sentinals was the energy proposed.
And the sounds
Of a soft Florida night
Made her pause
For one small moment most profound...
Until she knew with loving certainty
It was only music
From another place in time;
It was only laughter
From another space in time...
It was only love
And it had not passed her by.
