And This Is 'Honey'

She's hiding under the bed. She wants to trust me but she's scared. The only 'mom' she's ever known is gone. To move to this house, she wasn't prepared. She lived her whole five years in a quiet life with her best friend. Now she feels so all alone, that home, that life, is now at an end. She comes out to look around but everything here is strange to her. She rubs against my leg and meows. I reach down to pet her, she starts to purr then it's back under the bed. She doesn't trust me or anyone yet but I'll be patient. I'll give her time to get to know me and be my pet.

You're just a perfect mom for this fuzzball Francine, a patient loving mom who will give this little kitty a home many others don't have. I find a pet fills a space in the heart that nothing else can. Loved this poem; it makes me warm! :)

Dear Francine, it takes kittens a while to adjust to new surroundings. I'm so glad you took her in. In no time at all, she will be following you everywhere. What a lovely poem! Love, Carolyn

YES it was for the Lightfoot Contest you just looked at it too quick..before I had a chance to make the footnote..The song of his I used was "Unsettled Ways" ..is that alright?} Light & Love
