And This Is 'Honey'
She's hiding under the bed.
She wants to trust me but she's scared.
The only 'mom' she's ever known is gone.
To move to this house, she wasn't prepared.
She lived her whole five years
in a quiet life with her best friend.
Now she feels so all alone,
that home, that life, is now at an end.
She comes out to look around
but everything here is strange to her.
She rubs against my leg and meows.
I reach down to pet her, she starts to purr
then it's back under the bed.
She doesn't trust me or anyone yet
but I'll be patient. I'll give her time
to get to know me and be my pet.
