Alcohol Abuse

ALCOHOL ABUSE I’ve been there done that The words flow so easily Lips barely moving But the eyes start to dance Try to recall beginnings I’ve been there done that Words of both release and grasp A quiet searching With noisy implication As to both past and future

Good statement about the difficulties and benefits of being under the influence and its abuse, Daver.

Did my share. Saw it in the generation before me and the generation after. Tough battle.

Another bad habit that casts its magic spell; mine was cigarettes and I still miss them but did it cold turkey. Good for you! Love, Elizabeth

Daver, I think it's far in your past, from what I remember you telling me. I like the quiet reflective way you recalled it. A good poem.

Hey Daver! "noisy implication" it can make one more blatant or clamorous, I suppose. Not always a pretty message will be found in those bottles.:( My parents had had a hotel, I'd seen it destroy the lives of many. A sad write, Daver. Best wishes, Love, Mikki
