A Winter's Lapse
I lean in to kiss my reflection
And think to myself, how wonderful
It would be if the image
Does not retract. You see,
There are no better moments
Than those led by empathy
In which we find ourselves making
Memories worth keeping. Remind your future
How you leaned in to kiss your reflection
And how you could feel your lips surrender
Like pursed fair flowers blooming
In a winter's lapse
And how if only for one moment
You shed your inner workings
You may find something
Worth living and dying for.
