A Plea For Spring

The winter has been here too long
still going strong
this freezing cold
is getting old.

Sunshine, please come and melt the snow
make flowers grow
so I can see
all their beauty.

When I can feel the Springtime sun
and winter's done
with thanks I'll pray
in warmth I'll play.

This is called a Minute Poem. It is a rhyming verse
that has 12 lines of 60 syllables written in strict iambic

Wonderful write. I'm always impressed with those who can write in structured forms. It is a talent few have. Think Spring! Vince

Lovely wishful verse..makes me look forward to the fresh warm air of the 60 through 70 degree breezes of springtime, hopefully soon to come..I don't remember if I thanked you for your comment on my lyric Whiskey 'n' Grins, so thanks. That happened back in the early 80's over in Indiana at a New Years Party. Yea, ouch is right, I'd rather get bit by a dog. I made up the part about his girlfriend kissed me, and also it happened outside. The bite and choking was real though..Lawrence in Lou. Ky.
