A Pistol For Miss Prunella
A Pistol for Miss Prunella
By Elton Camp
At school, the psychopath blasts away
A horrifying development of our day
School children once were secure
Nowadays, we can never be sure
“Do something!” is the logical cry
But is this the right thing to try?
A gun in the hands of the school marm
Has the potential for creation of harm
Will she keep her weapon right at hand
Against a crazed killer to take a stand?
Every second she must remain alert
So a curious child doesn’t get hurt
Will her bit of training be enough
When the situation really gets rough?
If bullets in the classroom begin to fly
The result might well be a child to die
What if the murderer the gun seizes
And then uses it to do just as he pleases
Whether this is best I surely don’t know
It raises some deep concerns, though
