A Peaceful Beginning

I'm on front porch with cup in hand As dawn begins to rise I sip my java as I watch The sun light up the skies Distant mountains start to glow When clouds refract the rays Yellows, oranges, blues and reds Paint atmospheric haze My coffee is a gentle blend That's mixed with morning breeze The two combine with natures scent To put my mind at ease I love to watch a days new birth It's way beyond compare Except for when I watch it end From back porch evening chair Rockman :-)

Rockman, I see you finished what I should have and your ending is beautiful. Sorry, I just couldn't get around the concept - I see so many others doing it but I guess my head turns to mud with trying. Lovely verse you penned.

You suggested nature. A favorite of mine. I created a picture. Put my self in it and followed where it took me. It doesn't always work that way for me. Sometimes I hear a line or think a thought that makes me tilt my head and I take it from there. I have many of those lines written down that I haven't done anything with. But I see them as seeds for future poems.
