A Memory
Memory
I sat there drifting
The fire spat like a cat
It seemed to carry my eyes
Held them in it’s sparkle
Drifted them upward
Where dreams took over
There was your face
That laugh of long ago
Across a table at our disco
There you, as in a dream
Was this true my talk denied
I stuttered to start again
This was in my mind
I held you, could only stare
But that was short
As I spoke to you
St Patricks day it was
Time no friend of mine
It past and I had to go
A beauty in Ice and snow
Days rolled on by
You stayed with me
Times found me cry
I had to leave you there
I can only say to this day
That you are the same
Held in a vacuum of time
A vision of my need
Time heals all they say
Well what do you think
That up to this day
You are the same
It is now so long
Thoughts still carry on
Many years plus three
I believed you were for me
