'a Listener's Ear'
I can pretend that I walked in your shoes
but that is not what you want.
You want someone to listen,
not necessarily give advice
but just be a shoulder
I couldn't see it at that moment
now that I need a listener's ear
I get your need back then.
In a nutshell, I can finally say
I walked in your shoes
but not with the same worries you had,
I can identify more with your need
for a shoulder to lean on then
the advice we so readily give or get -
