A Flight To Remember

Santa hitched his reindeer to fly out one night,
As he crossed the heavens, he saw a bright light.
It was almost blinding, yet it did appear
And a voice of angels Santa then did hear.
He looked down below him on a field to see
Just some humble shepherds hearing this with glee.
So he thought he’d follow where they planned to go,
Not really quite knowing why they hastened so.
There within a stable they began to walk
Santa heard their voices as they began to talk.
“We saw this bright angel, we heard choirs sing
Of a newborn Savior, of a newborn king.
We have come to see Him; they gave us a sign
Swaddling clothes He’s wrapped in, in a manger find.”
Mary then and Joseph took them to the place;
Shepherds bowed and worshipped at His holy face.
Santa curiously watched it, then he wandered in
To see who was born there to save men from sin.
He bowed at the manger as He saw God’s Son,
Worshipped and adored Him; his new life was begun.
As he left the stable, he soon realized
His flight through the night time, through the starlit skies
Now was with a message—not about HIS sleigh,
Not about HIS reindeer, or presents on the way.
It was of a Savior born that quiet night,
Bringing us redemption from sin’s awful plight.
Yes, that flight changed old Santa on that Christmas Day—
A flight to remember when he bowed there in the hay.

This poem inspired from the picture of Santa bowing at the manger of Jesus.
