A Country Melody
The chirping of the red breasted robin sounded like a symphony
The tiny finch and the bluebird sang along just for me
The melodies tugged at my heart strings as I walked by
I skipped along the country lane at least as much as I hid
Gentle ripples rolled downstream as I cast a pebble in
Each little wave carried my blues farther away
I sat down at the edge of the creek loving it this way
Yellow and white daisies lined the opposite banks
I shifted my gaze to watch a falcon drift with the breeze
I lowered my eyes and listened, the wind swept the trees
I bowed my head, gathered up my heart, I prayed
Oh Lord, provider of my life, I feel know everything is all right
