A Sun Tree

I Saw A Tree Shine In The Late Afternoon Sun
It Was Lit-Up By The Light Cast Therefrom
It Stood In The Path of One Slanting Sun-Ray
& Spread Limbs & Leaves To Dare Fire To Play

All The Other Trees Stood Out of The Picture
As Grass Bowed Down & As Breezes Whispered
And The Sky Deepened Blue To Frame The Sight
of The Stature of That Tree, Lit By That Light

It Reminded Me of That Famed Line of Poetry
By The Poet Alfred Joyce Kilmer, The Literary
Because I Think That "I" Shall Never See
Any of My Poems As Lovely As That Tree ...

Thank you, Sandra - your kind & thoughtful comment is very, very much appreciated. This poem is from one of my visual memory files (and the tree was so lovely as it stood there in the late, late afternoon sun, against a dark, blue, cloudless sky that it was mesmerizing) ... And I'm glad to share the visual with reader(s) ... MoonBee
