'60s Child

When I was a boy, Just 8 years of age, I saw - cities burning, I saw - fires raging, In the hearts of men. When I was a boy, Just 8 years of age, I heard - Mothers crying, I heard - leaders lying, About Vietnam. And my Mother cried, Kennedy had died, In some city called Dallas, Far - far away When I was a boy, Just 8 years of age.

Hey, GUESS WHAT? I was 8 years old too!! But I did not see the cities burning. I take it you saw the civil unrest in your part of the world? It's interesting to me how you see yourself as a 60's child. I was a child too in the 60's but I was not affected by all the things happening, like the changes in civil rights, etc. I had to grow up and read about it in history. It was not to evident in my community! Good one, rueben.

Andrea, Looking at the images on the news growing up then made a very definite impression upon my young mind. It seemed to be a daily occurrence most of that decade. Thanks for your comments. Ruben
