The image becomes a phrase

minimalist in flavour,these

syllables become a form.

A phrasis of verse out of

my mind’s eye to light

bonfires of imagination in

another’s.The enigmatic and 

ephemeral,naked and

ashamed lie here for all

to see and hear.A monumento

moment,the very motion of

my being,singularly my own.

We can go back again to the beginning of our love
We return across languid gulf of languishing waves
And walk barefooted on the morning sand
We can in the cold of wind hold each others hand
And tell stories light as the gull above green
And dappling sea, O let us go back, my friend
And flex and bend our iron scruples to dance
Like a supple rhyme, or mento music frolicking
Where each tide rise and break upon the bar.
I am ready to leave all this, just be my guiding star....

See women shuffling hips and light feet
Feel the rhumba box humming in my heart
Gombay grumbling breaks the bass apart
My soul surrenders to her salacious flute
And shakes like a maracca to contribute
To festive dance with toombah repeating
The bottle torch lits up the opague night
And fireflies come the years remembering
And they guided Tacky to that ancient fight
For patrimony and human rights to meet
Where Jamaica stands soveriegn above defeat....
