God commands us to obey His voice for our learning
Against vain humanistic leaning
Toward righteous walk of holiness-reigning
By faith’s trust in His strengthening.
God commands us to obey His voice for our empowering
Against false hopes that bring fear of terror-staring
Toward guided diligence for heavenly fruit-bearing
By faith’s drive along His Scriptural gearing.
God commands us to obey His voice for our divine healing
Against grief and hurts of sinful spoiling
Toward well-being with good health-sealing
By faith’s work of spiritual fulfilling.
God commands us to obey His voice for our praying
Against doubts and unbelief with futile trying
Toward fervent supplication of earnest complying
By faith’s adherence to what He is assertively saying.
God commands us to obey His voice for our rejoicing
Against gloom caused by evil cursing
Toward steadfast commitment in our service-pressing
By faith’s performance upon His love’s enforcing.
God commands us to obey His voice for our glowing
Against discouragements that hinder stewardship-sowing
Toward productive servanthood for discipleship-growing
By faith’s increase along His blessings always flowing.
God commands us to obey His voice for our working
Against slothfulness and even worthless sulking
Toward effective labour partnership midst ministry-tasking
By faith’s commitment to wait victoriously for the coming of the King.
