Victim Or Victor
Phoenix and Phoenicia
They had both been victims of their own sad minds stories lost told and untold
narratives to be re-authored livid experience lived in silence meaning smeared in
crusted mud slung in terminal slots shots executed by travesty of dire pyres cloven
free erroneous fall hanging on calamitous cliffs dangling twisted roped in let loose
inside out back again forward as they clung to slashed slits flashed neck tied voids
Hawsers hacked from the moors and mores mooring suspended suspense of void
icicles chilled like burning daggers imprinting caustic casualties imploding hooded
graves dug from deluded mirrors shards of shattered glass’s dyslexic glossaries
enshrined in twisted tongues competing throngs licking acerbic wounds and venom
poisoned emptiness screaming in fore bearing bared barbed spikes of tearful fear
She stood fragmented fallen from dismembered mutilations molested amputated
ex-articulated at the cutting edge of meshed melodious conscripted cacophonies
of expectations and not another mumbling word of kindred spirit posed emotion
He had fallen to silence cast out just the same misplaced abandoned consecrated
on the altered altar of the ex and the why and how of malicious claim to his soul
Life had the kindness for them to meet and melt their vicious strings attached
internalised combustion blame apportioned guilt shame angst un-communicated
inhospitality regressed regrets and switched from overbearing toxic nothingness
Passion struck ignited drew the last flickers of hope from threadbare perfidious
confidence and when the moribund flames shone rescue and salvation they lived
Together they made love in all sorts of places scenes locations ways rejuvenated
resumption enthused reflection lust for life and unadulterated arched positions and
deployed their trust and placement in the treasured vulcan vaults of cupid arches
naked maquettes of bending over backwards to grow in conjoined delectation
from extinguished busted alienation they found kindness compassion sculpted joy
They never forgot the forlorn forgeries that had been their plight forgave torment and dissolution though fondled fond tenderness once more caressed and came to peace
with their distorted history the miscreant perpetrators the assault on their beauty
and left behind what was not theirs to solve consigned the toxic waste and unsolicited
culprits who may not manage to emerge from victimhood to victory unless they chose
Victor and Victoria have fought their battles now enlisted coup de grace towards
new beginning in unison with self and lover have triumphed over washout landslide
of their prison cages subterranean mindless caves rebuild on agency accepted ownership
of the tell tale vagaries of life and in defeat emerged triumphant swept to shore by unequivocal honesty they left the deadly mess to fester where it came from and belongs
