Tu Whit-Tu Whoo

An owl is a curious bird
Whose hooting you've probably heard.
It's deemed to be wise
Has perfect disguise
And eyes of a size quite absurd.

Great limerick Wendy. I have always wondered how the owl got to be the symbol of wisdom. I assume it has something to do with mythology.

That's very kind of you, Jan. I only realised when reading up about them today that they don't have proper eyeballs, can't roll or turn their eyes and can only look straight ahead. thus the need to rotate their neck so extensively!
