Treading Lightly

my thoughts
like tires
on icy roads
spin
out of control
colliding
against
banks
of mind

my heart
somber
like this day
lingers
within
the puddles
of soul's tears

like rain
on this road
streaming
downhill

Such effective imagery, December's drudgery ever in the forefront of your mind and heart... Hurry, Spring!

when the heart slips in icy conditions it will always be tears that fall. Beautifully expressed my friend. The somber tone of this piece brings a chill to me as i red today. Still...sigh.

Sandra, Enjoyed the slippery slopes and solo spin-out in your poem. -Richard
